Composting Plant Waste
Sooner or later, the time comes to tidy up the land plot. Let us talk about
a common gardener's mistake — leaving spoiled vegetables and fruit on
the beds to rot, expecting them to turn into compost by the next year on
their own.
Unfortunately, this is a misconception: such waste can become a breeding
ground for diseases, attract pests, and simply spoil the appearance of
the plot.
However, all healthy plant waste — of which there is plenty in August
— should be placed in a compost bin. To ensure it works effectively
rather than sitting in a big pile, you need to layer the plant material
with soil and treat it with special bacterial preparations that accelerate
biomass decomposition. More on that shortly!
Compost is one of the most widely used fertilizers. It is essentially
humus made from plant residues. In nutritional value, it is not far behind
manure, and anyone can make it — there are always organic materials
available on any plot: vegetable peelings, windfall fruit, pulled weeds,
root crop tops, crop residues from corn and sunflower harvesting, pruned
branches, and so on.
In other words, almost any organic waste that decomposes with the help of
bacteria, fungi, insects, and worms is suitable for composting. The result
is a material rich in nutrients.
Compost is typically prepared in late summer and autumn. This is when the
harvest takes place, leaving a large amount of green mass suitable for
future fertilizer. However, only healthy material should be used —
free of disease or insect pest damage.
Full compost maturation takes 1–2 years, depending on the climate
zone. During this time, moisture, high temperature, and microbial activity
transform the residues into uniform humus. Pathogenic bacteria and
helminth eggs are destroyed.
Now is the perfect time to introduce our product — Sanvit-K-Forte
for composting.
The product promotes deep processing of plant residues and animal waste.
It helps neutralize unpleasant odors and yields high-quality compost.
By applying Sanvit-K-Forte to compostable material, you will get:
- Finished compost 3–4 times faster;
- Compost without unpleasant odor;
- Environmentally clean, high-quality fertilizer.
The product contains Bacillus genus microorganisms, lactic acid
microorganisms, and biologically active substances (enzymes). A
distinctive feature of the product is that its enzymes are not released
immediately, which extends the effectiveness and activity of the
bacteria. It significantly reduces ammonia levels in the air.
Thanks to compost, over several seasons the soil gradually becomes
loose, dark brownish-black in color, and enriched with an environmentally
clean fertilizer. The soil retains moisture well
and does not form a crust after rains!
