Why use live bacteria for poultry house bedding
With the onset of autumn cold and increased humidity, it is especially important to create favorable conditions for poultry housing in the poultry house.
Floor-based flock management requires special attention to bedding materials and methods of maintaining them in proper condition. The quality of the bedding directly affects the health and productivity of the poultry.
One of the main causes of footpad dermatitis in poultry is excessive bedding moisture. Dry bedding reduces ammonia concentration in the facility and has a positive effect on the overall condition of the flock.
To maintain poultry health, it is necessary to follow a set of measures: control the feeding system, drinking regime, indoor climate, and bedding condition. Violation of one or more parameters leads to reduced efficiency and productivity.
Excessive moisture in bedding material promotes mold growth, appearance of unpleasant odors, and proliferation of pathogenic microflora. These factors negatively affect poultry immunity, increase the risk of diseases, and reduce flock preservation.
Various preparations are used to improve bedding condition: chemical, mineral, and biological. The most effective and safe solution is biological preparations based on live microorganisms.
We have previously introduced you to the preparation — bedding bacteria DBA "Sanvit-K-forte".
The basis of the preparation consists of live spore-forming microorganisms of the Bacillus genus, possessing pronounced antagonistic activity against conditionally pathogenic microflora. During their life processes, they produce enzymes and biologically active substances that accelerate the decomposition of organic waste.
"Sanvit-K-forte" has a pronounced antibacterial effect. During the cold season, the preparation serves as an additional heat-insulating layer in the bedding due to the thermophilic microorganisms it contains, which naturally "warm up" the bedding material.
