Growing Citrus Trees

Anyone who has experienced growing citrus trees on their plots knows firsthand that it is painstaking work. Citrus trees are medium-sized, heat-loving trees bearing sweet-and-sour fruits, including oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruits.

All citrus trees are fragrant and look wonderful on a plot. Citrus trees can be quite successfully grown at home, in a greenhouse, or simply on a plot, as long as certain standards and rules are followed. There are no low-maintenance citrus varieties — they are all very demanding in terms of care.

When purchasing plants for planting on your plot, it is necessary to buy from experienced citrus growers; if growing indoors, it is necessary to maintain high humidity and spray at least once a day; apply fertilizers from February to November twice a month; and do not loosen the soil in pots.

Soil type — fertile, "rich," well-drained; planting time is spring, with flowering in spring and summer. When growing citrus in indoor pots or containers, they can be taken outdoors in summer and only returned to a protected location in autumn: a bright space with good air circulation.

Citrus trees absolutely do not tolerate being planted near walls, solid fences, or in corners.

Citrus trees are best planted in open ground in early spring, after the last frosts in your region. It is necessary to use fertilizers. Be sure to avoid damaging the plant roots when planting. If necessary, tie the trees to stakes.

The watering regime is very important, especially in the first years of citrus plant development. Make sure the plants do not dry out, as this will slow their development. Water when the top layer of soil has dried to a depth of 5 centimeters. For potted citrus, a drip irrigation system can be used.

Citrus trees are susceptible to pests and diseases. Some of them can be controlled with a mild spray solution prepared by adding one tablespoon of liquid dish soap to one liter of water, mixing thoroughly, and spraying both sides of the leaves with a spray bottle or garden sprayer.

Good fertilizer nutrition for citrus plants is an essential component of their cultivation. Juicy, bright, appetizing fruits and a rich harvest — that is what everyone strives for on their plot.

We present to your attention the natural microbiological fertilizer Biogor-Zh of the KM series for fruit and berry crops:

  • helps plants form fruits and ovaries, promotes the full development of their structure;
  • stimulates active growth and development of fruits, leading to increased yields;
  • helps accelerate the fruit ripening process, allowing harvest at optimal timing;
  • provides fruits with rich flavor and high nutritional value;
  • helps extend the shelf life of the harvest, which is important for maintaining its quality.

The preparation contains microorganisms with probiotic, phosphate-mobilizing, nitrogen-fixing, and cellulose-decomposing capabilities, as well as carbohydrates, macro- and microelements necessary for healthy plant growth and development.
